Salmonfly Graphic Fishing Hoodie

Salmonfly Graphic Hoodie Fly Fishing Apparel

The salmonfly is the largest stonefly to hatch on most of the rivers in the west.  The nymphs will float around in the water and on the rocks for three years before hatching.  Then they climb up onto rocks and trees before starting their clumsy flights.  I remember the first time I experienced this primordial bug I was fishing on the Colorado River at the pumphouse near Kremmling.  I must admit that I freaked out a bit when they would land on the back of my neck.  But the fish sure seamed to like them.  Kind of like I would enjoy a king's cut prime rib floating down the river.

We welcome the new salmonfly graphic fishing hoodie featuring art by Dun & Dun. James Dunlap does naturalist illustrations of the multiple life stages of many trout staples.  Ryan Dunmeyer provides the entomological expertise to James with exhaustive effort in collecting and photographing every development stage.  We took our favorite of the Dun & Dun bug images for our newest offering.

The sun protective UPF50 Sunpro Hoodie features a lightweight (150gr.) 4-way stretch fabric (85% polyester 15% Spandex) for comfort and fit unmatched. An internal neck gaiter built into the hood is included for free. Thumbhole cuffs ensure sun protection on the backs of hands.  Just another great sun protective, moisture wicking apparel piece.

Sizing Hints from Doug:

Our SunPro Hoodies are made to be worn loose to promote airflow through the garment and allow sun protection in warmer temps. As such, they grade out bigger with longer arms and torsos than many.  I have comfortably worn these hoodies in temperatures up to 95 degrees in Florida and Brazil. At 5'11" and 175 lbs.(ish) I wear a size LG.  It is generous on me.  A loose fit works well for our Fincognito and Oceancognito lines or when wearing as hiking clothing.

I have noticed that those wishing to wear the hoodies as a base layer (especially for skiing in our Mountaincognito line) generally buy one size smaller.  Keep in mind the high Spandex content allows for a good amount of stretch.
